Nope ….

About a year ago, someone gave me a copy of Marie Kondo’s “Spark Joy.” I had heard of the book but was uninterested in it.

It lay around my office, sometimes on my desk, sometimes on the floor. A few times I tripped over it.

I ignored it for months.

Just last week I took it to half-price books. I think I got $1.25 –it was a pristine, untouched copy after all. I was so happy to get rid of it. No more tripping over its carcass, no more of my office real estate occupied.

Thank you. Thank you.

You did not know did you?

That my house gives me rights.

You did not know did you?

That my house gives me virtue.

Food, Clothing, Shelter

I demand that you are not naked

But not full or warm

I won’t offer you sleep

Not on my lawn

Or even in a park

Not here, I say

Brooms and authorities both sweep

The dust, the garbage.

My TV blares

I sing with Alexa

I have a house

You stay quiet

What you know

That I will not see

With my infinite grace

You were de-housed for me
